Regulatory Information

Clarity about what we do is part of the service.

Wolfe & Black is not a firm of solicitors.

We are an independent case preparation and support service. We do not claim to be authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and we do not undertake reserved legal activities unless lawfully entitled to do so.

We prepare. You conduct.

Our work can include evidence and document analysis, chronology preparation, research, case strategy, drafting assistance, complaint preparation, hearing preparation and other unreserved support appropriate to the matter.

Where you are a litigant in person, you remain responsible for conducting your proceedings, complying with court or tribunal directions, signing documents where required, filing and serving documents and meeting deadlines unless an appropriately authorised person has formally taken responsibility for those activities.

Hearings and advocacy

Any attendance or speaking role is subject to the rules and permission applicable to the particular court or tribunal. McKenzie Friend support does not create an automatic right of audience.

When we cannot act

If an instruction would require a reserved legal activity or another regulated activity that Wolfe & Black is not authorised to provide, we will not undertake that activity. We may recommend that you obtain assistance from an appropriately authorised professional.

Before launch

This page will be expanded with the final trading entity, complaints process, privacy information, terms of engagement and applicable insurance information before the service accepts paid instructions.
